I know what you’re thinking…

This doesn’t look like a I’m A Mom With Tattoos posts, and you’d be right.  The honest truth is that my “pipeline” of awesome people to interview has run dry.  I’m sort of sick of asking for new people to find and interview all the time, so while the series is not permanently stopped, I will wait for people to get in touch (like Lindsay did this morning – thank you!) and then you’ll see a new feature here on the Friday morning.

I’m sure you don’t mind, but I just thought I’d keep you in the know, you know?

Listening To:  Oh man, we finally spoiled ourselves a little bit and bought the Sam Smith and George Ezra albums.  Since then I have listened to it like 100 times.  My favourite time to listen is in my car, with it turned up loudly enough to drown out my own off key voice.  I want to sing my heart but not hear myself – honestly, I’m surprised that all my windows haven’t shattered.

Feeling Thankful For:  As usual there is so much to be grateful for.  I actually had a moment the other day when it felt like my heart would pop from feeling so overwhelmingly blessed.  Obviously my family are what I am most thankful for, but I’ve come to be very grateful for this little blog.  This little “me time” space has afforded me so many opportunities that I wouldn’t have otherwise enjoyed and yes, I know it’s a lot of hard work and all that, but still, I’m thankful that the hard work is recognised.

On a sort of unrelated note, we popped in the V&A Waterfront last night to watch a movie (we saw “Lucy” – it was kind of a bit intense).  It finished earlier than we thought and so we took a walk around and spotted my Instagram printed and displayed in the centre of the mall.  SO stoked!

Making:  This weekend and all of next week is already dedicated to making the decor for our (Knox and my) party the following week.  Thankfully the venue is pretty much the decor in and of itself, but it’s not a party unless I have made something that I adore for it – like the Brownie in a Bag party packs for the girls party.  I can’t help myself.  And I’m OK with that.

Anticipating:  Our BIRTHDAY next week Thursday and the line up of events for the next few weeks.  I feel like I am constantly slotting things into my diary and then lining them up in my head of “things to get through”.  Don’t get me wrong – I love going to kids parties, launches and just general things, but as a rather shy individual, I need to psych myself up to be social.  It’s hard sometimes. Do you struggle with this?

Eating:  A while back I had my very first macaroon at the One and Only High Tea.  It was mediocre at best.  I mentioned on Instagram that I totally didn’t get why everyone made such a big fuss about it.  Daniela from Daniela’s (who specialises in making macaroons) happened to see my horrible first impression and was then hell bent on changing my mind – that is passion for your craft like no other!  I received my box of assorted macaroons yesterday and I must say that they were way better than the ones that I first tried.  The lemon one is my favourite so far (although I have kept a chocolate one for tonight so it could be debatable).

Watching:  We’re still stumbling around some options trying to find something worthwhile.  Currently watching Chicargo PD (and enjoying it) but Seth is adamant that he wants to watch the Walking Dead.  I flipping hate scary stuff.  Have you watched it?  Is it scary?

Loving:  That it’s the weekend baby!!!  Go out there and have a good one!

  1. Enjoyed the post as always… Was thinking maybe you can start a new series if this one running dry… like 3 secrets to our relationship success.. or my easy peasy meal for mom’s… or something wonderfully edifying! similar to mom with tattoos in that it’s an interview style thing and you have various contributors… just a thought

  2. The Walking Dead is pretty violent but the story line is excellent, have you watched House of Cards yet? Amazing! Downton Abby is also good….I can give you lots of ideas and go on forever…do you guys get Netflix there?

    • I’m totally cool with violence (which sounds terrible), but can’t deal with people jumping out of places unexpectedly! HUGE fan of Downton Abbey, but didn’t quite get into House Of Cards – too much jargon.

      • Was that the British House of Cards or the American version? Probably I am just so used to American terminology now….Breaking Bad is also good, huge hit here…here are some others….Call the Midwife, Bomb Girls,Homeland, Masters of Sex,Drop Dead Diva,Mr Selfridge,Orange is the new Black, Nurse Jackie….I loved Homeland, kept me glued to my seat…

  3. I feel that I have to psyche myself up for it too.
I have proper anxiety over meeting people – I guess that I am more comfortable behind my screen and when I am faced with opportunities to meet bloggers who I admire and lookup to, I feel that I they are sooooo way above me. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy events but it does take some convincing to get myself there,

Go on, tell me what you think...
