Aaaargh Me Maties – We Went On The Pirate Boat

How much did the pirate pay for his peg leg and hook?

An arm and a leg

*Duh-dum-tish!*

Anyway, back to the real reason that I popped onto my favourite spot on the internet…

For one of our work functions this year my business partner Jan decided that it was time to take everyone out to sea on the Pirate boat, so a couple of Saturdays ago we donned our pirate gear and went down to the docks at The V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

I didn’t know exactly what to expect on the boat, except that I may end up puking my guts out in front of people that I would actually have to see again on Monday.  Thankfully the weather was PERFECT – hardly a breeze and beautifully hot.  We boarded, got the kids settled with their life jackets, grabbed some drinks and then we were off.

It was a really fantastic day for it.

I couldn’t help but take a bajillion pictures of the scenery.  But can you blame me?

There were also other people on the boat and we had lots of fun chatting, checking out the views and pretending to be pirates! About halfway through the trip the pirates aboard the ship put on a show for us – thankfully the kids were too busy looking at the view to really notice half of what they were doing – these pirates were way more piratey than what Jake and The Neverland Pirates let on.

We followed it up with lunch on the top level of Quay 4 – really yummy food with a great view, even with the little birds that came for a visit and nearly scared the crap out of the girls (and me too!)
